Plenaries Announced for the CNI Fall 2026 Membership Meeting
I'm pleased to share the opening and closing plenary sessions for the CNI Fall 2026 Membership Meeting, taking place December 10–11 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, DC.
Opening Plenary
CNI member representatives may recall that the Steering Committee met earlier this year to discuss codifying CNI’s mission. We’ll begin the meeting with an update on that work.
This will be followed by what promises to be a very thought-provoking keynote by longtime cybersecurity professional Michael Corn. In his talk Against the Cartography of the Knower: Identity, Knowledge, and the Limits of Observation, Michael will explore how contradictions and tensions in the library’s mission serve as a useful model for rethinking cybersecurity.
Closing Plenary
On Friday, we’ll wrap up the meeting with the panel Libraries Are Hard: User Experience and the Challenge of Relevance, moderated by Amy Deschenes (Harvard University) with panelists Josh Boyer (North Carolina State University), Ixchel M. Faniel (OCLC), and Elysé Girard (University of Virginia). The panel will explore how and why research libraries can make their value, services, and expertise more visible and usable to remain central to research, teaching, and learning.
Full session descriptions and speaker bios are available on the plenary page:

Look out for more programming announcements in the coming weeks.
With excitement,
Kate
