From 2020 to 2024 the National Science, Technology and Security Roundtable held over a dozen meetings to gather information on the interactions between research and national security issues. On July 16-17, 2024 the Academies held a Capstone Workshop to summarize and synthesize much of what was heard over the course of those meetings; I was able to attend the second day of this meeting, which I found extremely informative, and I am looking forward to watching the recordings from the first day. Please note that, unlike the consensus-based study committees that produce formal National Academies reports, the roundtable was intended as a discussion forum representing a wide range of views.
The recordings and presentation materials from the July 16-17 sessions are now available; the page also has links to other materials related to the roundtable. See
