CNI-announce readers may be interested in a recently-issued report from the U.S. National Science Foundation reporting on a November 2010 workshop titled "Changing the Conduct of Science in the Information Age". This takes an international perspective on issues involved in cyberinfrastructure and data intensive science. The report contains extensive appendices and background papers (some of which are reports like the European Union "RIding the Wave" document that will already be familiar to some readers).
