The National Science and Technology Council issued an important report last week titled "Desirable Characteristics of Data Repositories for Federally Funded Research". This pulls together a good deal of work, including the responses to an Office of Science and Technology Policy request for comments in early 2020, and some of the evolving thinking coming out of the National Institutes of Health on FAIR data and the roles of specialist vs. generalist repositories.
