John O'Brien, the President of EDUCAUSE, has just published a really nice brief update titled "The Time Has Come: Include Research and Education in the Broadband Investment" on the work the higher research and higher education communities are doing to ensure that their needs are well represented in US Federal Broadband investments and public policies. This will be a helpful overview for members of the CNI community that may not have been tracking these developments. See
