The UK Royal Society has today issued a lengthy report titled "Science in the Age of AI" which explores various roles of AI in the processes of science and the communication of scientific research. There's a considerable overlap with findings and recommendations coming out of the US Office of Science and Technology Policy/PCAST and the US National Academies, but this report seems wider ranging and places a bit more emphasis on generative AI technologies.
