Last Call to Register for ARL/CNI Forum on Enhancing Graduate
Education—Deadline September 28
The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the Coalition for
Networked Information (CNI) are co-sponsoring a forum on “Enhancing
Graduate Education: A Fresh Look at Library Engagement.” The forum
will be held Friday, October 12, 2007, following the ARL Membership
Meeting at the Washington Marriott Hotel in Washington DC. The deadline
to register is this Friday, September 28 (see below for registration
information).
Three distinct program elements are planned for this day-long forum:
• An overview of the state of graduate education, recommendations from
the Council of Graduate Schools, and findings from a trio of library
field studies focused on the academic and research behaviors of
graduate students.
• Perspectives from three graduate students.
• Concurrent breakout sessions for in-depth audience discussion of the
implications for enhancing library space, services, and resources for
graduate students.
